Season is here and we hit the ground running. Before we get into the bigger shoreline work we're gearing up for, we've been knocking out a solid lineup of smaller landscaping jobs - cleanups, fresh mulch, stone work, and all the detail stuff that makes a yard look put-together heading into the warmer months.

Every yard we touched this round got the full treatment. That means clearing out the debris, re-edging the beds, laying fresh mulch, and getting the stone areas cleaned up and topped off where they needed it. The before and after difference is real. A fresh layer of dark mulch against a clean bed edge does a lot more for curb appeal than most people give it credit for.

We also put our Ditch Witch SK900 to work on a few of these. That machine is compact enough to get into tight spots around structures and landscaping where a full-size skid steer can't go - but it still moves material fast. Laying stone under a deck, grading sand along a shoreline, hauling debris - it's one of the more useful pieces of equipment we run. The weed barrier going down first keeps the gravel in good shape for years without constant maintenance.

The gravel and stone installs are some of our favorite work. Done right, with proper fabric underneath and clean edging to hold everything in place, it's low-maintenance and looks sharp for a long time. Same goes for the seeded and strawed areas we finished up - the straw holds moisture and protects the seed while it establishes, and once that grass fills in, those bare patches are gone for good.

Shoreline season is right around the corner and we can't wait to get after it. But in the meantime, these yard jobs keep us sharp and our customers happy. If your property needs a cleanup, some fresh mulch, or a stone refresh before summer, now's a great time to get on the schedule.
